PIÑ PHYS 1455
Piñata Physics:
Objectives: To understand, develop and apply the mechanics and dynamics involved in positioning and breaking a typical mexican piñata. At the end of this course, the student will be able to know how to efficiently swing and break a piñata; able to calculate the speed, force, torque, yaw, roll and swing of the piñata. The student will be able to calculate the modulus of elasticity and what is the effect of a perfect impact.
Required Material for class: Rope, Bat and “Make your own piñata kit”.
Lab: once per week
Required Material for Lab: Bowl, Chips, Salsa and a big Mexican Hat.
Prerequisites: Students should have successfully passed SALS 101 (Introduction to Salsa making and catering), ENG 1009 (Introduction to beer drinking) and regular engineering stuff.
Professor: Grajeda, G.
